Microsoft Germany chief to go
The head of Microsoft's German subsidiary plans to leave the company following a dispute with Redmond over the company's future. Jürgen Gallmann, 44, plans to leave Microsoft at the end of the year, the company said in a statement. Gallmann "has requested the termination of his contract due to differing opinions concerning the future direction for Microsoft Deutschland", Microsoft said.
Samsung office raided in price-fixing probe
Samsung Electronics, the world's biggest maker of memory chips, said its German offices were raided as part of a European Union probe into suspected price-fixing of SRAM chips.
"We were raided on Oct. 11 in connection with our SRAM products," a representative for Samsung Germany said Wednesday. "We are cooperating in full with the investigation." The European Commission said Tuesday it had raided the offices of several makers...
Office Live almost out of the gate
Office Live is still not an online version of Office, but the set of small business tools has a few new tricks and is heading out of beta. Despite its name, Office Live is not an online version of Microsoft's popular desktop software collection. Instead, it is a set of small business services, such as e-mail, Web hosting and contact-management software.

ASP.NET: Control The Number Of Alternate Rows In GridView

The GridView control (as well as the DataGrid) has
a way of defining the style of every other row of the grid.
My favorite way of doing it, is to set a class on the row and then by stylesheet set the background like so:
This approach works very well for me on both the GridView and the old DataGrid, but there is a very important thing that is missing - the ability to have e.g. three rows be alternate and three regular throughout the grid. The alternate rows are always every other row and you can't do anything about it without overriding the GridView and provide the functionality yourself.
Implementation
Download the AlternateGridView.cs below and add it to the App_Code folder of your website. Then put the following tags unto the page or user control where you want the grid. The AlternateGridView class is only 47 lines of code including XML comments. You can still use the same style to color the background as shown above.
