Gain New Site Partners With Google

By Justin Freid

Linkbuilding takes time, and time is something most people are short of. So utilizing tools and resources to find potential link partners can help you cut down the time it takes to find high quality link partners.

One tool that SEO's have used for quite some time is setting up Google Alerts for top keywords. By doing this you can receive email alerts from Google whenever they index new pages that contain the keywords you have provided.

This saves you quite a bit of time compared to constantly running queries in Google for your top keyword. This also provides an advantage because the content is often fresh content so it may be on websites you have not researched before or the content of the post or article may contain new information about your industry or client's industry.

Let's look at an example: If your client happens to be a producer of tablet devices then last week would have been a great week for you to have had these set up and run a linkbuilding campaign. After the release of the iPad thousands of reviews of the product were posted but there were also many posts regarding possible competitors and similar products.

If you had set up a Google Alert for the term "iPad Competitor" or "tablets" or "Top * slates" you would have had your mailbox flooded with linkbuilding opportunities. Many of the articles, blog posts or webpages that you would have found were lists about possible alternatives to the Apple iPad consisting of a short blurb, a picture and a link to the manufacturing company's website. If your clients product was not lucky enough to have been mentioned in these lists you can simply contact the webmaster, send them a small write up on your clients product and request to be added to the list and wa-la you have a link.

The alert should also contain quite a few blog posts concerning the new iPad release and other alternative products. You could simply leave a comment about your product or reach out to the blogger and ask if they would include your product or even write a review.

The important thing that this tip will help you out with is saving time. Instead of going to Google and typing in hundreds of inquiries searching for link partners you can set these up to automatically be generated daily or weekly and have link partners delivered directly to your mailbox.
